Hiroki Oishi, CiNet Researcher (Takemura Group), received “Merit Abstract Award” for his presentation at the 2021 Annual Meeting of Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM).
This award is given to top-ranked presentations at the OHBM 2021 Annual Meeting, the largest international conference in the field of human neuroscience. The presentation by Hiroki Oishi was the only awarded presentation from Japan and recognized because of his contributions to establish a method to precisely map brain subregions using quantitative MRI.
Title: Quantitative structural mapping of the lateral geniculate nucleus subdivisions in living human brain
Co-author: Hiromasa Takemura, Kaoru Amano
Summary:
Oishi et al. used the quantitative MRI method to precisely measure the lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN), which is a crucial area for visual processing in the brain. They established a new method to identify subdivisions of the LGN in living human brains, which were difficult to identify by conventional structural imaging methods.
