Abstract:

The objective of our study is to investigate effect of non-invasive brain stimulation applied over the auditory cortex on resting state network connectivity using fMRI.
A previous study revealed that transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) applied over the auditory cortex at rest modulated resting state networks including the auditory network and somato-motor network. Our current study aims to characterize effects of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) applied over the auditory cortex on resting state networks. We conducted a parallel study to the previous TMS-fMRI study using the same image acquisition protocol, which allowed us to directly compare the results.
