Talk Title: Does Valuing Happiness Lead to Well-Being?

Kuan-Ju Huang

Host PI: Eiji Nawa

Abstract:
In this talk, I will share my recent work on valuing happiness and well-being published in Psychological Science (Huang, 2024), along with follow-up analyses in this line of research. The study uses a large-scale longitudinal dataset to explore the complex effects of valuing happiness on well-being. The results reveal divergent patterns at the within- and between-individual levels, as well as in short-term and long-term effects. I will also discuss methodological challenges and opportunities for future studies on the pursuit of happiness goals.
