Abstract:
InterSpike Intervals play an important role in the coding of information in the brain. This talk presents communication protocols that use similar principles. Pulse-based codes will be discussed that can be transmitted by a multitude of senders on one and the same channel with little interference from each other. Even if transmitted codes are superimposed on each other, a receiver can decode them successfully through algorithms that employ pattern recognition on pulse trains. Applications, like low-cost energy-efficient Internet of Things, as well as implementations in hardware will be shown.
