“How white matter acquired colors”

Abstract:
Diffusion MRI provides us today with stunning images in colors and 3D of human brain connections, completely noninvasively. Results gathered worldwide over the last 25 years have shed light on the way brain connections underline brain activity, opening new perspectives for our understanding of brain disorders including mental illnesses. After a brief presentation of the concepts which led to the development of diffusion MRI it will be shown how those concepts may be extended to build a new physical framework handling neural activity flow in brain networks at global level.
