Abstract:
CiNet Season 2 has started. A catchphrase for the new series is “Motto Omoroi Kenkyu from Osaka,” which means “More interesting and exciting research from Osaka.” I’d like to introduce some research topics that are “omoroi” at least for myself, such as why we feel that “the present” flows in one particular direction, from the past toward the future, and why the world remains stable while we move our eyes. We hypothesized that the precuneus, the strongest hub of the entire cortical network, plays some essential role in both phenomenological experiences. I will present some results, including those obtained by using transcranial static magnetic stimulation (tSMS), which seem to support our hypothesis.
