NICT-NSF Collaborative Workshop on Computational Neuroscience

January 17 (Tues.) & 18 (Wed.), 2017
Conference Room, CiNet Bldg.
(1-4, Yamadaoka, Suita City, Osaka, 565-0871 Japan)

Organizers:
National Institute of Communications Technology (NICT)
National Science Foundation (NSF)

NICT, in collaboration with NSF and NIH (National Institutes of Health), would like to study the possibility of launching a joint funding opportunity in computational neuroscience. This would be in conjunction with the Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience (CRCNS) program, which currently involves NSF, NIH, and partner agencies in France, Germany, and Israel. The goal would be to support collaborative projects involving labs in Japan and the US. These projects are mostly research projects, but could include data or infrastructure sharing.
The workshop is to define the scope of this new program, identify areas for potential collaborative research, and explore how the impact and success of a joint activity can be maximized.
